About christian -
Christian was born in the seaside town of Granville on the coast of Normandy in 1905. He was 1/5 children and was born to a wealthy fertiliser manufacture. At the age of 5 he moved to the city of Paris with his family. His parents originally had hopes of him becoming a diplomat however instead was artistically inclined and begun selling sketches on the street to earn pocket money.

After his graduation, Dior opened his very own art gallery in 1928 with th money he received from his father to help him with financial support, however there was one condition the family name was to not appear above the gallery door. A few years later the gallery included artists such as Georges Brasque, Pablo Picasso, Jean Cocteau and Max Jacob. Unfortunately he was forced to close the gallery in 1931 following the deaths of his elder brother and mother and the financial collapse of the fathers business.

Dior made his way through the fashion industry in Paris where he created designs for the wife of the nazi where he re-introduced a femininity and focused on bringing luxury to womens fashion. With his success of designs and business practises made him one of the most successful fashion designers in the world. His designs have been worn by many film stars and members of the royal family.

Dior died in Montecatini, Italy in 1957 at the age of 52 suffering his third heart attack. Dior funeral was attended by approximately 2,500 people, including staff and many of his most recent clients. He is buried Cimerier de Callian, in Var, France.

The final outcome for this unit will be 2 advertising campaigns for my given beauty brand: Dior.  2 catwalk looks for the spring/summer range and 2 editorial images theme/story. Using my skills learnt from Level 4 i will be able to produce work to a professional standard for the beauty market. I will have many roles during this task, such as the makeup and hair designer, and editorial, advertising and fashion areas. At the end of the unit i am asked to create a catwalk outcome for my timed assessment.
